So...there's something that has always bothered me about girls in comics, videogames, movies, etc.
The lack of proper clothing when fighting...or clothing at all.
I mean, it's just ridiculous. We have this girls, strong and beautifull who can and will kick ass, but then have to dress them in the most sexist way possible, in outfits not only designed to give wet dreams, but to imposibilitate movements and proper attacks.
Obviously, as I'm working with my own character I had to change that, however I faced a problem.
I wanted to create an Action Girl, someone that was obviously strong, not involving the way she dress...however I wanted to avoid the "No Guy Wants An Amazon" cliché, after all, there's no reason a guy won't feel attracted to someone who doesn't dress in a slutty way, is it?
That's why I tried to create a cute yet strong design, however that wouldn't fit the character, mainly becuause working in the line of fire while being an average woman can mark you in a lot of ways, not only in her skin, as her scars show, but also in her mentality...
Anyway, I ended having a "Chick with guns" product.
She doesn't look cute, she isn't the kind of girl a guy will want at first look, but she is okay with that, mainly because she isn't searching for a guy, she is just working her way around the mercenaries.
That's why her whole outfit is about being practical, combat boots, whole pants, a confortable shirt, short hair, etc...The only thing she wasn't willing to take out are her piercings, full bridal style, things that are fucking useless and actually dangerous for the holder in a battle, but that she likes.
After all, she ended up being...some sort of manly girl, but I'm okay with that, because she isn't supposed to look cute and nice in her battle outfit, she is supposed to be there, killing.
So...As far as a "Practical Outfit for Battles" go, I think it's a success...

On Super Hero costumes, I think what we come down to is who the costumes are designed for: teenage boys. So the girls get to have the useless cheesecake costumes, and the boys get to have useless "man that's so awesome" costumes. No seriously—if you really think about it, most guys have completely useless costumes. Let's take Cap for example, since he's probably the one most sensibly dressed next to Tony.
Ignoring that he's wearing ridiculously visible bright colors, because that's supposed to be symbolic, he wears leather and scale mail. The leather pants mean he's going to heat up really quickly, they'll chafe and, because they're so tight, they probably his freedom of movement. The only thing they'll give some protection against is brush (not a New York problem), scrapes and roadrash. And the mail? Only comes down to his ribcage, leaving all his nice soft innards as easy targets. Even worse, scale mail will help again arrows and daggers and that's about it—it's absolutely no use against most modern weapons. All it really does is add another 10-20 pounds and also slow him down. Finally, as awesome as his wings are, they provide something to grab during a fight. And he's the practical one. I feel sorry for poor Spidey in his spandex. That must suck come winters.
I daresay your action girl is more practically dressed than even Cap. Comfortable pants, good solid boots, a top that's designed for support and freedom of movement... (thumbs up)

The thing about Spidey...Well I always wondered about that, the poor guy...
And Cap wings, I used to bealive they were just ridiculous, now they are ridiculous and a potential weakness.
Costumes, costumes are a danger for superheroes.
Good to know you think she is cute, you just made her happy!!
Now, I wish I could do something about the bridal piercings though. I mean...I like them, she likes them but those things are even worse that Cap wings in a battle, this ones will actually hurt if pulled (Not that she cares, mind you, but still)
Yet, she looks weird without them...

She could hypothetically replace them with magnetic ones before heading into a fight? Though it wouldn't work for long-term, since a lot of those piercings would close up pretty quickly.

She'll have to removed them before a fight or mission or whatever...But still, it's a problem with the bridal piercings, are a little more complex than others, they don't get out as easy.
She will have them reaped in a future, I know...Then she will learn.
I'm working on the casual outfit now, because god knows she has a right to look cute.

Well, Himilce bealives that having the full bridal style makes her less cute, wich she needs at battle, she says that, even if cute makes a good advantage sometimes, she is tired of that and she wants to look badass, mind you, she kind be quite childish when she wants to...
